About Us

Buzzlet is the brainchild of Karma Ansbacher, bilingual speech-language pathologist.  She has worked in early intervention for approximately 17 years, specializing in the treatment of autism spectrum disorders.  She has also worked with children with Down syndrome, childhood apraxia of speech, and other communication disorders.  For many years she puzzled over how to help families connect with their children who can pass through a stage of non-verbal communication during early childhood. Further, she wanted a solution that not only builds receptive and expressive vocabulary, verbal communication, grammar skills, but also, and so importantly, reciprocal communication.  After many years of considering these questions her family generously offered to provide the financial and emotional support to explore and develop her ideas.  Buzzlet by Bumble Bee Communications, LLC is a woman owned company, supported by the love and encouragement of her family and friends.

The name of the app, “Buzzlet” is derived from the greeting, “What’s the buzz?” and ‘tablet’.  A good friend of mine used to always greet me with, “What’s the buzz?” and we would smile and then catch up.  I hope that children and adults will find Buzzlet to be the perfect bridge between a developmental or acquired stage of non-verbal communication to speaking.  It’s my hope that individuals with the potential to speak will find some relief in communicating with their loved ones by using the Buzzlet app.

Thank you goes out to Scott and Kristi Stryker for the financial and business management support, Chris Stryker, Terri Motley, Dee Stryker, Jan Stryker, and Danielle and Bryan Dehmler-Buckley for endlessly listening to, and supporting this dream.
